Corns / Callous |
|
Corns and callous are the result of too much pressure on the skin. The body’s natural response to increased pressure is to add more layers of skin to protect itself. As the skin thickens, it becomes painful to walk on. It is important to have the hard skin removed at this stage to prevent a breakdown of the underlying tissues. You should never attempt to cut the callous off yourself as you may damage healthy skin or cause a serious infection in your foot. Proper fitting shoes and Custom Orthoses may be required for best long term results.
