Why does my heel pain keep coming back?

Home > FAQ > HEEL PAIN > Why does my heel pain keep coming back?

Heel Pain is most commonly due to Plantar Fasciitis and is caused by two factors – the inflammation of the plantar fascia ligament and the mechanics of our feet. Immediate treatment includes anti-inflammatories and stretching which helps relieve the heel pain, however, control of the mechanical issues also needs to be treated, as the heel pain is likely to return in a matter of weeks or months. This is why Abbott Foot and Ankle Clinic recommends the use of custom orthotics to maintain the mechanical balance in your feet once the initial pain is gone. Our treatments include preventative means to avoid that future heel pain.
