Yes, children and adults alike can transfer their orthotics to their sports shoes, provided they fit and the shoe is not narrower as some runners are. Children, like adults are candidates for shin splints and planter fasciitis, and the orthotic will help alleviate the stress on the leg muscle and the pain that is quite often suffered as a result of high arches, flat feet or over pronation (foot leaning in) and suprination (foot leaning out). If your child plays an excessive amount of sports, you may want to consider purchasing a second pair of orthotics. Contact our office to schedule an appointment and have your child’s needs properly assessed. Orthotics can benefit a multitude of sports such as soccer, track, hockey, skating and tennis.
